Learnapalooza Chicago 2010

The daylong learning festival known as Learnapalooza arrived into the Chicago neighborhood of Wicker Park this past Saturday, June 19th, and BeerBin.com was on hand to teach the free Beer Education class titled “BEER ME!”  Held at the world famous Small Bar on Division Street, attendees to “Beer Me!” were treated to a brief history of beer, some basic knowledge of the types of beers, a briefing on the local Chicago Microbreweries and most importantly, some free beer samples.

For the sampling of beers, we focused on the differences between Ales & Lagers.  Attendees were treated to Metropolitan Brewing Flywheel Bright Lager, Metropolitan Brewing Dynamo Copper Lager, Half Acre Gossamer Golden Ale and Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale.  As a special treat, we capped off the sampling session with some of the Cider Artisanal Reserves from the Crispin Cider Company, Honey Crisp and The Saint.  Between the fantastic sampling session and the expansive selection of beers at Small Bar, first class brews surrounded everyone!

“Beer Me!” would not have been possible without the support of Half Acre Beer Company, Metropolitan Brewing, Crispin Cider Company, the wonderful staff of Small Bar on Division Street and of course, the organizers of Learnapalooza Chicago.  Thank you all.
