BAR REVIEW: FRIAR TUCK in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, IL
As you enter the no thrills bar of Friar Tuck, you can’t help but notice that the bar building looks like a big hollowed out beer barrel. By the way, when I say “no thrills” I mean that as a compliment. You come to Friar Tuck to drink and to drink some more. There is no fancy decor or trendy furniture. All you have are the necessities: bar, bar stools, tables, and popcorn and of course beer. I guess you can go so far as to say that the Karaoke area is a thrill.
Beer is the main attraction at Friar Tuck. Granted their beer selection is not very unique, it does have more than just light beers. The beer that is the highlight of the bar is Michelob Amber Bock. It is the only place in Chicago (so far) that has it on tap. Plus, Friar Tuck has an everyday special of $5 mini pitchers. $5 gets you a mini pitcher of any draft beer!
So if you are looking for a place to start or end your night, Friar Tuck is a great option. The Broadway Street area of Lakeview is becoming a popular drinking destination, and Friar Tuck is at the heart of it all.
